Saddam Hussein is a top example of an angry, destructive ego. He is prepared to allow Baghdad to be destroyed rather than surrender to the massively overwhelming military might of the United States and the coalition forces. Americas big-brother attitude notwithstanding, we could have avoided the war had the Iraqi leader been realistic and sacrificed his ego.
No naturalistic person would attempt to go against such forces.
The question is: How many natural, powerful forces do we attempt to go against every day of our lives? Why do we permit our egotistical, negative emotions to destroy our immune system with hatred and anger?
We know anger is a destroyer of peace and harmony. It causes the possessor considerably more pain and misery than the one the anger is directed against... Saddam's anger has brought his people great pain and misery; also, it will spell his own demise.
How do we compare war with anger? You could say we have our own ballistic missile system, and every time we get ballistic with anger, we destroy many natural cells in our bodies.
Dont abuse the natural tendencies of the body, for God lives in every body. Says the Bhagavad Gita: Self-important, obstinate, swept away by the pride of wealth, they ostentatiously perform sacrifices without any regard for their purpose. Egotistical, violent, arrogant, lustful, angry, envious of everyone, they abuse my presence within their own bodies and in the bodies of others.
Who or what will be the cause of your next emotional bombshell? Who are what will you blame for your depression and sadness? Is it someone or something that makes you weak and energy-less... or is it your own thoughts that is the destroyer?
Who gives you thoughts of anger: Your spirit/soul or your ego? If it is your ego, why not surrender it to the forces of nature, and become a wholesome, natural life-essence of the universe...
Now is the time for humanity to grow realistic... and not to continue to go stubbornly ballistic.
